Vietnamese stock market grows steadily

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese stock market recovered dramatically in the COVID-19 pandemic last year with the VnIndex surpassing 1,100 points, 15% more than the previous year, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam told reporters on Tuesday.

The Commission said the stock market capitalization totalled nearly 230 billion USD, making up 84% of Vietnam’s GDP in 2020.

It predicted that the Vietnamese stock market will continue to improve as the enforcement of the 2019 Law on Securities from early this year will help bring it to international standards and a new IT system will ensure the safety, stability, and efficiency of the market.
