At a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Paralympic Committee in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Chinh said sports for people with disabilities proves that disability is not a barrier but can be the beginning of extraordinary journeys.
“Strengthening the leadership of the Party and the State, the in-sync coordination of all levels and sectors in effectively delivering policies, resolutions and strategies for the development of physical training and sports, especially in connection with the people with disabilities."
"Efforts should be made to fine-tune mechanisms and policies to ensure equality, fairness and timeliness in treatment and rewards as well as invest more in infrastructure, training and competition equipment and human resources. It’s necessary to boost socialization and build public-private partnership models, private-public support funds for sports for people with disabilities from the grassroots to the national level,” the Deputy PM said.
