During the meeting in Hanoi on Friday, both sides discussed measures to boost bilateral ties and stressed the need to increase political consultation and coordination between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs as well as build a specific cooperation framework, especially in economics, trade, and investment. The two leaders agreed on the need to expand cooperation in culture, tourism, transportation, security, and defense. Both praised their effective cooperation in international forums and called for further coordination at the UN.
