On February 26, the Hungarian National Assembly elected Mr. Sulyok Tamas as President, replacing his predecessor Katalin Novak, who resigned in early February.

Constitutional Court President Tamas Sulyok, the only candidate for the position of President, received 134 out of 147 votes in support in the secret ballot at the National Assembly on February 26.
