Vietnamese PM calls for joint efforts for Asia’s further growth

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech at the 26th International Conference on the Future of Asia that was held virtually on Thursday.

In his speech, PM Chinh said it is time for all countries to set aside conflicts and differences, stand united to offer mutual support and win over the pandemic together.

He called on Asia to issue new framework for cooperation with necessary breakthroughs to help economies overcome the pandemic while laying a foundation for sustainable and inclusive development for the future. The PM proposed five principles and six contents of cooperation to build Asia; peace, cooperation and stronger development during the post-COVID-19 era. He calls for enhancing internal strength, resilience, self-reliance, and international cooperation, centering on the people.

PM Chinh highlighted Vietnam’s responsible contributions and readiness to work with nations to foster peace, stability, development and solidarity for common benefits and prosperity of each country and the region, and for well-being of all people around the world.  

Chinh said Vietnam will bring into play its achievements, overcome difficulties and challenges, and continue national development based on culture and history, human values, and natural resources.

'We want to enhance development on the basis of innovation technology, digital transformation, harmony between economics and culture, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and strengthened institution. We want to promote aspiration for national prosperity and happiness, focus on the people, build a self-reliant economy, and tapping the potential of internal and external strength. We will continue the external policy of multilateralization, diversification, international integration and being a responsible member of the community,' said the Vietnamese Prime Minister.

Chinh said Vietnam is ready to expand cooperation with other countries for strategic infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and supporting industry, high-tech agriculture, electronics, ICT, biotechnology, smart urban development and logistics.
