Vu Anh Nam founder of Lasam said with the aim of promoting Vietnamese ginseng and other Vietnamese medical herbs, the company has researched and applied organic farming to create made-in Vietnam organic ginseng products using Bo Chinh ginseng, a type of ginseng only used in the royal family previously.
According to Mr. Nam, the farming method is in line with Vietnamese standards and will be registered internationally for export.
Phuc Lam farm is located in Thanh My commune, Son Tay town on the outskirt of Hanoi, with an area of 5.4 hectares. This is a certified organic growing area. Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Director of the Rural Development Sub-Department of the New Rural Development Office, Hanoi, said Phuc Lam has cooperated with farmers to create Bo Chinh ginseng raw material area, brought new varieties to plant in Hanoi and have gained initial results.
The company has also created a production chain to create products with high added value. This is a new direction, which should be promoted in the future, said Mr. Chi.
