(VOVworld) - “Vietnamese Lychee Day” opened in the Australian city of Melbourne on Monday with the aim of popularizing the fruit in Australia. The event, co-organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia and the Vietnamese Business Association in Australia, attracted a large number of overseas Vietnamese and international friends. About 300 kilograms of lychees, priced at 14.99 AUD per kilogram, were consumed on the day.
The event was held one week after dozens of tons of lychees were shipped to Australia. The Trade Office will conduct promotion campaigns in other Australian cities to promote the fruit’s consumption.
