Vietnamese, Lao capital cities eye stronger cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Secretary of Hanoi's municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said the visit to Hanoi by a high-ranking delegation from Vientiane, Laos, demonstrates the close bond and good traditional friendship between the two capitals.

At Wednesday’s reception and working session with the delegation led by Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Secretary Dung called on both sides to turn the cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Vientiane into a role model for Vietnam and Laos localities.

He said that Vietnamese leaders will support Laos’s success as rotating chair of ASEAN next year, and that Hanoi will work closely with Laos in successfully organizing the Year of Tourism 2024 and other activities.

The delegation from Vientiane visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum the same day.
