(VOVworld) - Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on Wednesday presented prestigious Friendship Order to Vietnamese French Professors Le Kim Ngoc and Tran Thanh Van for their four decades of devotion to Vietnam’s educational and scientific development.

In 1970, the two Professors set up an Association in France to help Vietnamese children. Since 1993, they have returned to Vietnam several times to organize exchanges between Vietnamese and foreign scientists. Van is also the founder of Rencontres du Vietnam (Meetings of Vietnam), which supports Vietnam's scientific community by providing scholarships to outstanding students based on academic achievement. With unparalleled enthusiasm and zest, the two have inspired passionate scientific research among generations of students and young scientists, helping to enhance the solidarity of the French-Vietnamese friendship.
