Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Duong Quoc Thanh said 2023 is a pivotal year in the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina, marking their 50 years of diplomatic relations and 13 years of comprehensive partnership.

2023 also witnessed a number of political events including National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s visit to Argentina in April. Thanh said cultural diplomacy activities have brought peoples of the two countries closer and Vietnamese cuisine has been very popular with Argentinian friends, especially spring rolls.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mercosur - ASEAN Chamber of Commerce (MACC), ambassadors from ASEAN, Japan, Uruguay and South Korea, representatives of the Argentine Council of International Relations (CARI) and the Argentina-Vietnam Culture Institute (ICAV).
