Vietnamese Buddhists send 100 tons of rice to Mozambique storm victims

(VOVWORLD) - The Vienam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on Tuesday sent 100 tons of rice to Mozambique victims of the Idai and Kenneth tropical storms in March and April.

Superior Monk Thich Dong Hue, Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Mozambique, delivered greetings from the VBS Central Committee and the Vietnamese people to local authorities. He said he hopes the aid package will help victims overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives.

Augusta Maita, Director General of Mozambique’s Institute For Disaster Management, thanked the VBS and the Vietnamese government and people for their precious and timely support.
