NetZero Pallets, which specializes in converting biomass into carbon-neutral shipping pallet materials, overcame more than 2,000 other businesses and organizations from around the world to become one of the two winners at the competition – the other being Silaiwali from India.
At an award ceremony, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala praised the Vietnamese representative for its innovative and creative environmentally-friendly product.
She emphasized the role of micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in global value chains and supply chains, adding that MSMEs represent about 90% of all businesses and more than 60% of all jobs worldwide. Their innovations and solutions to a circular economy are critical to the development of sustainable trading system, the Director-General added.
