Planting mangroves is one of the activities of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ha Long Bay project, jointly implemented by the provincial People’s Committee and JICA from 2010 to 2013 to raise public awareness of environmental protection and the ecology of the bay, tightening the Vietnam-Japan friendship, and strengthen the relationship between the youth of the two countries. JICA will continue to help Quang Ninh province clean up the environment and develop a sustainable system for Ha Long Bay.
