Vietnamese agriculture continues to grow

(VOVWORLD) -VN’s agricultural sector has maintained relatively good growth in the first half of this year despite a number of difficulties, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien at a press meeting in Hanoi on Monday.

He noted that in the past six months, agricultural production grew 2.7–2.9 percent and fishery production 6.5 percent.

Highlighting the growth in export, Mr Tien said this year’s export target of 43 billion USD is high but still achievable, adding that the quality of agricultural products and exports has increased. Agro-forestry-fishery exports totaled an estimated nearly 20 billion USD in the reviewed period.
