(VOVworld) – Vietnam and the Czech Republic released a joint statement following President Truong Tan Sang’s visit, which concluded on Wednesday. During the visit, President Sang held talks with President Milos Zeman, met with Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Speaker of the Lower House Jan Hamacek, and Speaker of the Senate Milan Stech.

He also met with the Czech Vietnamese community. Leaders of both countries discussed measures to foster bilateral ties and regional and global issues of mutual concern. They expressed their satisfaction at frequent visit exchanges between the two countries, reflecting their political determination to solidify their traditional friendship and cooperation in a number of areas including economics, trade, investment, science, technology, education, and culture. They pledged to create favorable conditions for market surveys to seek investment and business opportunities. They also agreed to continue contributing to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region and the world and resolve disputes through peaceful measures based on international law. They expressed their support for the early competition of EU-Vietnam FTA negotiations. President Sang invited President Milos Zeman to visit Vietnam.
