Vietnam women's futsal was nominated together with Brazil, Iran, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Uzbekistan, Finland, U.20 Colombia and New Zealand. This is the first time a Vietnam team has been nominated for the annual prizes by Futsalplanet.

In 2024, the Vietnamese women's futsal team won the Southeast Asian championship and the Thailand international futsal championship. The team won silver medal at the international friendly tournament in China.

Their head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang is one of the 10 nominees by Futsalplanet for "best women's national team coach" in the world in 2024. The winner will be announced by Futsalplanet in February.
