During his stay, Mr. Dinh held talks with speakers of the Lower House and the Senate, met with Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, and Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan, Askhat Zhumagali.
At the talks and meetings, the two sides agreed that there is plenty of room for the two countries to bolster bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation and optimize the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to raise bilateral trade to 1 billion USD.
The two countries agreed to boost bilateral cooperation in logistics, transportation, finance, digital transformation, agriculture and mining and pledged to provide favorable conditions for businesses to seek investment opportunities in each other’s market and form joint ventures in garments, textiles, and processing.
NA Vice Chairman Dinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to relations with traditional friends including Kazakhstan.
Kazakh leaders underlined that with its location in the center of the Eurasian region, Kazakhstan wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in transportation and railways, exploiting transnational railway routes and direct flights between the two countries to increase goods exchange bilaterally and with EAEU countries. A major goal is transshipping goods to Europe by way of the trans‑Caspian international transport route. Kazakhstan backs Vietnamese firms investing in strong areas of Kazakhstan especially in processing, garments, agriculture, finance, and banking.
He also met with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives from the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan and visited Almaty city.
