At a reception for US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E.Knapper in Hanoi, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the US to continue to consider the specific characteristics of the Vietnamese economy in negotiating the Reciprocal Tariff Agreement between the two countries.

Vietnam will continue to increase purchases of US goods, especially high-tech products, including aircraft and semiconductor products, as well as expand the market for US goods and create conditions for US businesses to operate effectively in Vietnam, Mr. Son said.

Ambassador Knapper thanked Vietnam for its positive approach, understanding of the US concerns, and early initiative to push forward negotiations, saying the US hopes that the two sides will soon conclude negotiations on the reciprocal tariff deal.

The US Embassy will closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries and sectors to expand cooperation in all fields for stronger Vietnam-US Strategic Partnership, he added.
