(VOVworld) – Vietnam will not adjust socio-economic targets for this year, said Minister and head of the Government Office, Nguyen Van Nen at a Tuesday press conference to announce the outcomes of the monthly government meeting for June. Nen said the government will take necessary steps and work with businesses to resolve their difficulties toward reaching the set growth target of 5.8%.

Vietnamese people are encouraged to prioritize locally made products

Nen said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung underlined Vietnam’s policy of developing an independent and self-controlled economy to counter the negative effects of tensions in the East Sea. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked ministries and agencies to make full use of trade deals and international agreements and encourage Vietnamese people to prioritize locally made products.
