Hang was responding to a question about Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s suggestion that Vietnam should join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) soon.

She affirmed that Vietnam will continue to contribute actively and responsibly to multilateral organizations and forums, especially ASEAN, the United Nations, APEC, sub-regional cooperation frameworks, and others.

Vietnam’s engagement in multilateral mechanisms, she noted, is always carefully studied and considered based on the country’s foreign policy, conditions, and capabilities, Hang said.
