Vietnam welcomes Irish investment in wind power

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung received in Hanoi on Thursday Andy Kinsella, Chief Executive Officer of Ireland-based Mainstream Renewable Power.

The Deputy Prime Minister said Vietnam has established incentives to promote renewable energy and has adjusted wind power  prices. Dung said the  use of renewable energy will continue to diversify, while ensuring  self-sufficiency, protecting the environment, and realizing Vietnam’s commitment to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed Mainstream’s investment in wind power off the shore of Soc Trang province. He urged the corporation to work closely with domestic enterprises, prioritizing local products. Mr. Kinsella said Mainstream prioritizes cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises and the use of Vietnamese technology and materials.
