Vietnam wants to expand partnership with EU

(VOVWORLD) - Leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State treasure and want to further Vietnam’s comprehensive cooperative partnership with the European Union, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son told President of the European Parliament David Sassoli on Monday during a working visit to Belgium and France as the Prime Minister’s special envoy.

Sassoli promised to support enhancement of the EU-Vietnam comprehensive cooperation, stressing that the EU considers Vietnam an important partner in Asia Pacific and wants Vietnam to continue helping to strengthen cooperative ties between the EU and other ASEAN members.

Sassoli said he and many other parliament members support the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

He urged the two sides to continue their close coordination to ensure effective implementation of the agreements, which will benefit people and enterprises on both sides.
