Vietnam, Vanuatu promote multifaceted cooperation

Prime Minister Joe Natuman spoke highly of Vietnam’s sharing experience in integration and development. The Vanuatu Prime Minister said that Vanuatu wanted to boost bilateral cooperation with Vietnam in agriculture, forestry, fishery and mining and work out measures to promote trade, investment and tourism. Regarding regional and international issues, the two leaders agreed to coordinate in multilateral cooperation mechanisms especially at the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and Francophone community for peace and stability in the region and world.

In regard to the East Sea issue, the Vanuatu Prime Minister showed his support to the stance of Vietnam and ASEAN countries in settling the East Sea disputes through peaceful means in line with international law including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, fully complying with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and soon completing the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister Joe Natuman also witnessed the signing a Memorandum of Understanding on technology and development cooperation between Vietnam and Vanuatu by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Vanuatu Foreign Minister Sato Kilman.
