Vietnam values assistance of Finnish progressive forces

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam remembers and appreciates the support and assistance that international progressive forces, including the Finns, have given to the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national independence and reunification and in the present-day national construction, Party General Secretary To Lam said.

General Secretary Lam met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Finland Tiina Sandberg on Wednesday in Helsinki, during his official visit to Finland.

Applauding recent achievements of the bilateral relations, the leaders of the two Parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and develop the traditional friendship and the Vietnam-Finland Strategic Partnership, for the long-term interests of the two peoples, for peace, security and sustainable development in the region and the world.

They voiced their support for the principled stance on maintaining peace and stability in the region, and peacefully resolving disputes in accordance with international law.
