In January alone, Vietnamese exports to the US market exceeded 5 billion USD. Exports to the US grew 4.7 times faster than exports to all other export markets. Garments and textiles led all exports, followed by footwear and wood products.
Vietnamese mangoes have received official approval for import to the US after waiting 10 years. This is the sixth Vietnamese fruit after dragon fruit, rambutan, longan, lychee, and star apple, approved for import.
A representative of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam said changes in US trade policy will affect many Vietnamese export products. Vietnamese firms should cooperate with their US partners in Vietnam to understand US regulations and laws concerning food safety.
