(VOVworld) – Vietnam and the US hope for an early conclusion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) negotiations which will be followed by more developed Vietnam-US trade and investment cooperation.

Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Stefan M. Selig made the remarks during Thursday’s reception for his delegation in Hanoi by Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Vuong Dinh Hue. Mr. Hue asked the US to ease Vietnam’s access to the US market, especially in the leather and footwear, textile and garment sectors. He also urged the US to soon recognize Vietnam’s market economy status.
