Vietnam urges for strengthened Europe-Asia connectivity

(VOVWORLD) - Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh on Friday affirmed that Vietnam supports the EU’s efforts to strengthen connectivity between Europe and Asia saying that the connectivity needs to be sustainable and comprehensive.

Speaking at the Europa Connectivity Forum held by the EC, Mr. Binh said as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure and ASEAN Chair in 2020, Vietnam is ready to bridge the EU and ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region to fully exploit cooperation potential between the two sides and for peace, stability, and prosperity of the two continents and the world at large. Mr. Binh urged the two continents to strengthen dialogues, mutual trust, and consensus in the principle of settling disputes by peaceful means, not using or threatening to use force, and complying with international law. The forum drew more than 1,400 delegates including leaders, enterprises, international organizations, and scholars.
