(VOVworld)-Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has called China’s organization of a yacht race to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago a serious violation to Vietnam’s sovereignty. In response to Hainan authorities’ organisation of a yacht race from Sanya to Vietnam’s Hoang Sa archipelago, Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi said the action is contrary to China’s commitment to not complicating the situation in the East Sea. Nghi said Vietnam strongly opposes the race and requests that China call it off immediately and comply with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea in order to maintain peace and stability in the region.
