Vietnam, UK work to advance comprehensive cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and the UK are expected to sign cooperation documents in politics, diplomacy, economics, science, technology, green transition, and sustainable development during Party General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from Tuesday to Thursday, Vietnamese Ambassador Do Minh Hung told the Vietnam News Agency.

He said that several agreements will also be signed between universities and businesses in Vietnam and the UK, creating new opportunities in education, research, finance, banking, and healthcare.

Ambassador Hung said this visit will enhance political trust and promote more effective cooperation.

General Secretary Lam is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Starmer and meet with leaders of Parliament to discuss concrete measures to advance the Vietnam-UK Strategic Partnership. He will also deliver a keynote address at a high-level economic forum attended by top British enterprises.

The Party leader will deliver a speech at Oxford University outlining his vision for the Vietnam-UK relationship and Vietnam’s renewal efforts and development orientation. He will also meet with representatives of the Vietnamese community in the UK.
