Defense Minister Phan Van Giang speaks at a meeting with media agencies on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Hanoi, June 19, 2025. |
The show, together with a grand parade to be held simultaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, celebrates the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day, and the founding anniversary of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), Minister Giang said while chairing Thursday’s meeting in Hanoi with media agencies on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
“We will invite several countries that shed blood in support of the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national liberation, peace, and independence to join the military parade. Though their number may be small, their presence will send a powerful message that Vietnam is respected and admired by friends around the world,” he noted.
Minister Giang praised media outlets for their extensive coverage of the VPA’s contributions to national events, including the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification. Those stories, he said, have contributed to raising the VPA's image, reputation, and standing.
