(VOVworld) – A shift in FDI flows will benefit Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, thanks to their large labor forces and strong domestic markets, HSBC stated Thursday in a research report, entitled “The Great Migration — How FDI is moving to ASEAN and India”. The report said recent Japanese investment has been poured into ASEAN countries to diversify risks away from China. This will greatly benefit those countries if they implement policies to extract the benefit. Investors from other countries have joined Japan in this search for low-cost manufacturers.

Vietnam has a large pool of labor and a broad market which can generate strong demand. HSBC is confident that Vietnam will grow in attractiveness to investors. Relative to GDP, Vietnam is the 2nd largest FDI recipient in Southeast Asia after Singapore.
