Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said Vietnam’s economic growth is attributable to its international trading activities.

He added the country is making an all‑out effort to improve its investment environment to further attract FDI and develop its innovation and digitization ecosystem.

 “Vietnam aims to create a dynamic ecosystem in the region. The Vietnamese State worked out a socioeconomic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation," said Deputy Minister Dong.

The government is also directing ministries, sectors, and localities to take measures to implement the State’s guidelines of promoting science, innovation and participating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution with the main focus on institutional systems, high-quality human resources and infrastructure, he said. 

Vietnam's innovation and startup ecosystem is on the rise, now ranked 46th out of the 132 countries and economies according to the 2023 Global Innovation Index. It is one of only three countries with innovation results surpassing the level of development for 13 consecutive years.
