Nearly 500 works for television will compete in nine categories including children's programs, documentaries, reportage, science and education, talk shows and dialogue, ethnic minority language programs, musical programs, stage and television movies. The entries reflect the country’s political, economic, cultural and social achievements over the past years. They also honor exemplary models during the process of building new culture, hunger alleviation, poverty reduction and disaster recovery as well as in the fight against corruption and the cause of national security and social safety protection. The annual event offers an opportunity for television workers to meet and share experiences in producing the best television programs for audiences. On the occasion, a wide variety of seminars and forums on improving the quality of television programs and communicating Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands on television as well as broadcaster-audience exchanges will also be held.
In addition, an exhibition displaying a model of the world’s largest natural cave, Son Doong in Quang Binh province, is expected to attract a large number of visitors.
