Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam told VOV that priority will be given to enforcing the 2017 Fishery Law and overcoming the consequences of natural calamities and the 2016 marine disaster in the central region.
“We need to concentrate on the transparency of fishing activities rather than increase the exploitation of marine resources. Advanced technology is encouraged in aquaculture to raise output and ensure food safety standards,” Mr Tam said.
Vietnam aims to produce 7.5 million tonnes of aqua-products this year, up 5.8%.
