Vietnam’s shrimp exports are showing signs of recovery in both output and prices. As the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect last month, the number of shrimp orders has increased 10%, according to the conference.

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) reported that Vietnam’s five major import markets are the US, Japan, China, the EU, and the Republic of Korea.

By August 15, Vietnam had earned 2.1 billion USD from shrimp exports, accounting for more than 43% of the sector’s total export revenue.

Shrimp exports to the US and South Korea grew 32% and 8.5% respectively.
