During a meeting on Tuesday with President of the Swiss Council of States Andrea Caroni, Chairman Man called on the Swiss Parliament to establish a Vietnam-Switzerland Friendship Parliamentary Group and share its experience in building a law-governed state, developing its legal system, and enhancing the role of the legislature and elected bodies in national development.
He highlighted Vietnam’s interest in expanding cooperation with Switzerland in areas such as financial technology and digital banking.
Mr. Caroni underscored the value of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in developing legal systems that align with global development trends. He also expressed his hope that the two countries would soon begin discussions on a bilateral free trade agreement.

At a separate meeting with President of the Swiss National Council Maja Riniker, Chairman Man proposed that both sides accelerate negotiations on an Investment Protection Agreement and a bilateral tax agreement.
He also called for the resumption of talks on a bilateral free trade agreement and asked for Swiss support in training semiconductor engineers. In addition, he urged closer consultation and coordination in multilateral and regional parliamentary forums.
The Vietnamese top legislator is currently in Switzerland for the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament and bilateral activities.
