Swiss Consul General Othmar Hardegger said the bilateral cooperation has developed strongly and effectively in various fields; however, the outcomes are not yet on par with their potential. Switzerland hopes soon to conclude the free trade agreement between the European Union and Vietnam , he said, adding that this will create a significant boost for bilateral economic links. He pledged further support for Vietnam in fields where Switzerland is strong. Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said Switzerland is one of Vietnam’s top partners in Europe and among the 15 biggest investors in HCM City. He said signing the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement will create a firm foundation for Vietnam-Switzerland economic cooperation.
