Mr. Phuc briefed his counterpart about Vietnam’s measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, including ensuring the safety of Vietnamese and foreign nationals. He asked the Swedish government to provide medical care and favorable conditions for Vietnamese nationals living and working there during the epidemic.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister said Vietnam is willing to share information and experience in fighting COVID-19 with Sweden and cooperate with other nations and international organizations to cope with the pandemic.

The Swedish PM spoke highly of Vietnam’s remarkable resistance in the COVID-19 fight and wished for both countries to enhance cooperation for epidemic prevention and control.

The two leaders agreed to further promote the role of the current cooperative measures and intensify close coordination at international and regional forums. They pledged to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration at bilateral and multi-lateral levels and promote their roles in forging international cooperation in this fight, as Vietnam is the current ASEAN Chair and the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council during 2020-2021 tenure.
