As a Member of the UN Human Rights Council in the 2014-2016 term, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh said the success of Myanmar’s general election illustrated its reform, democracy, and national reconciliation. Thanh called on the international community to increase cooperation and technical assistance to help Myanmar’s people exercise their rights and promote democracy. He said Vietnam supported sincere dialogue and practical cooperation between international partners and Myanmar and always stayed side by side with Myanmar in its national development.
