Meeting US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Mr. Giang suggested that the two countries boost cooperation in line with the signed agreements, especially the MoU on defense cooperation and the 3-year cooperation plan until 2024. Under agreements, the priorities will be increasing resources to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of war and furthering cooperation in peacekeeping and military medicine.

At a meeting with Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, the two agreed to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels, promote defense policy dialogue, exchange intelligence information, and enhance cooperation between their navies and air forces.

The Vietnamese and South Korean Defense Ministers agreed to step up exchanges and maintain cooperation mechanisms. Minister Giang asked Minister Lee Jong-sup to work more closely in implementing the Korea-Vietnam Mine Action Project until 2026.
