(VOVworld) – Vietnam-Singapore relations have developed in all areas, Vietnamese ambassador to Singapore Tran Hai Hau told a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Singapore on the occasion of the two countries’ 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
Hau said this year has been a most impressive year in economic cooperation. Over the past 11 months, Vietnam attracted more than 4.3 billion USD in foreign direct investment from Singapore’s businesses, bringing the total of Singapore’s FDI in Vietnam to 29.2 billion USD. The ambassador said next year will be an important year for all ASEAN members. The ASEAN community and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, in which Vietnam and Singapore will be partners, will become a reality. Hau said this will boost the bilateral relationship in all areas, especially in economy, trade, and investment.
