During talks in Dakar on Wednesday, President of the Senegalese National Assembly Malick Ndiaye and visiting Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man called for the early establishment of a mechanism for regular delegation exchanges, joint oversight of bilateral agreements, and new initiatives, such as appointing honorary consuls and enhancing information exchange to support business communities.
The two sides also agreed to intensify collaboration at multilateral parliamentary forums, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF).
They pledged to continue sharing legislative and oversight experience, expand cooperation in training, and deepen political trust through increased exchanges and high-level contacts.
Following the talks, the two leaders witnessed the launch of the Vietnam-Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two legislatures.
