Deputy Minister Thang was speaking at a conference on the effective implementation of programs for sending Vietnamese workers abroad under international agreements, on Monday in Nghe An Province. He added overseas employment programs help create jobs, improve workers’ incomes, develop high-quality human resources and strengthen international cooperation.

“Sending workers abroad through non-profit international agreements is not merely a socio-economic solution, but also an important policy instrument, a practical channel to implement major directives of the Party on international integration, human resource development, and economic diplomacy. The new approach to labor export focuses on training competent workforce, capable of knowledge and skill absorption during their employment abroad,” said Thang.

Vietnam has recently sent more than 155,000 workers to work abroad.
