(VOV) - Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang, has strongly opposed US sanctions against Cuba.

At a UN general debate in New York on Tuesday, he said the US-imposed sanctions violate international law and the UN Charter’s principles concerning sovereign equality, non-intervention in other countries’ internal affairs, and self-determination of nations.

For the 21st consecutive year that the United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba by a vote of 188 in favour, three against, and two abstention.
