Since 2013 the United Nations has identified human trafficking as one of the four most dangerous crimes in the world and chosen July 30 as the World Day to prevent and combat human trafficking.

In 2016, the Prime Minister of Vietnam designated July 30 as “National Day on Anti-Trafficking in Persons”. Since then, activities have been organized to mobilize the whole political system and the Vietnamese people in preventing and combating trafficking in persons.

Speaking at the ceremony, the UK Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew pledged to work more closely with the Vietnamese government to fight human trafficking.
