Vietnam respects UN roles: Prime Minister

At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for chief representatives of UN organizations in Vietnam led by UN Resident Coordinator Kamal Malhotra, PM Phuc congratulated them on the United Nations Day October 24. He called on both sides to achieve sustainable development goals, implement global commitments, and settle emerging problems like climate change adaptation and sustainable use of water sources in the Mekong river basin.

Mr. Malhotra underlined the good relationship between Vietnam and the UN and praised Vietnam for being one of leading countries in implementing the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development. As the UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, he pledged to work with UN organizations in Vietnam to promote cooperation and contribute to Vietnam’s development.
