A representative of the General Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday said they have obtained updated data related to the disease from the WHO and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and are closely watching the situation.

At least 169 cases of acute hepatitis of unknown origin among young children have been reported in 12 countries.
