Vietnam reports 9 new imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday afternoon

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported 9 more imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday afternoon, bringing the overall number of coronavirus infections to 2,603, said the Ministry of Health. 

The newly detected cases are now being put into isolation to undergo COVID-19 treatment at local hospitals after they were confirmed to carry the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

With the latest addition, the total imported cases amount to 1,000 and a total of 2,359 people have fully recovered from the virus.

According to the National Expanded Immunization Programme, a total 48,256 frontline medical workers and members of community-based anti-COVID-19 groups were inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine from March 8 to 30.
