Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Mr. Sharma that Vietnam has adopted a national strategy on climate change until 2050, considering net zero emissions and transition to renewable and clean energy an irreversible trend.
He asked development partners including the UK to help Vietnam in technology, finance, human resource development, experience sharing, and improving institutions during negotiations for partnership for equal energy transition.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue told the COP26 President that Vietnam aims to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and is determined to fulfill this political commitment through specific targets.
Chairman Sharma said his ongoing visit to Vietnam, the third to date, shows the importance COP26 attaches to cooperation with the country.
