(VOVworld)-Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has criticized the US Department of Commerce’s decision to launch anti-dumping investigations on the imports of utility scale wind towers from Vietnam.  Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi told reporters on Thursday: “First, we have to confirm that Vietnamese companies have never dumped utility scale wind towers into the US market. The projected investigation is groundless and runs counter to US commitments to green growth and international trade, particularly the commitments made at the 19th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit last November. The DOC should handle the issue in an impartial and fair manner in line with the spirit of free trade and multilateral commitments as well as the growing economic ties between Vietnam and the US.”

Spokesperson Nghi also noted some important diplomatic events during February including President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Laos, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh’s visit to the US, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh’s visit to China and the Angolan Vice President’s visit to Vietnam.
